What a dumb way to lose a game. The real problem with Mangino-gate is that it confuses the issue of the on-the-field performance. It's pretty much always been a given that every KU football coach is literally one home loss to Missouri away from losing his job. The Arrowhead deal has maybe given both Mark Mangino and Gary Pinkel a sense of security in that respect. Still, let me just try to evaluate the football performance minus the political circus.

This is the strangest game day I can remember. When we had Mark Williams running the team and when we had Bill Whittemore running the team, I used to have a saying:
